Air Tools

Cotton gin air systems often benefit from providing the operator a broader view. For example, a constricted entry at the front end of an air system can cause problems at the associated separator or cleaner that is closer to the suction fan common to both, although widely separated within the piping system. To use an analogy of technologies in a modern automobile, Air Tools provides a benefit much like that of a navigation display that shows traffic activity on the intended route. By contrast, Choke-Finder provides a benefit more like the side-mirror sensors for blind spot monitoring, for situational awareness in closer quarters. They are different pictures, but each is extremely helpful to the driver for its intended purpose.

Every Air Tools sensing location requires a pressure port. This static pressure port measures the air pressure inside a pipe or duct. When there is a problem, pressure increases or decreases depending on whether the air obstruction or leakage is upstream or downstream from the port. Seeing this change early allows ginners to detect small problems before they become large ones, saving costly down time. In other cases, ginners may know that they have a serious problem that will soon be resolved and Air Tools allows them to continue ginning while keeping a close eye on the situation, that would not be possible without the benefit of Air Tools.
