2007/08 - Prototype Season
During the 2007 season, the Steamroller II
was prototyped at New-Tex Gin in Plains, Texas. The team at
New-Tex were fully dedicated to the success of the prototype and
worked hand in hand with Samuel Jackson to observe and adjust
the Steamroller II. By all accounts, the prototype season was a
success with the Steamroller effectively conditioning New-Tex's
entire 2007 crop of approximately 73,000 bales.
2008/09 - Season II
In 2008, we added two additional Steamroller
II installations at United Cotton Growers in Levelland, TX and
Quarterway Gin in Plainview, TX. The bar for success at these
two operations was even higher than the prototype season as they
were both seasoned and satisfied Steamroller I customers.
Between both gins, there was a total of 16 seasons and well over
1-million bales moisturized with an original Steamroller. The
experience of these two crews combined with New-Tex being on its
second season allowed the Steamroller II to be improved even
more. A special part of this season was evaluating the capacity
of Steamroller II. United Cotton Growers routinely gins between
65 and 70 bales per hour and their assessment was that the
Steamroller II handled those ginning speeds just fine.
2009 and Beyond
With 263,000 bales to date conditioned with
the Steamroller II, it is now ready for it's full commercial
release. As of this writing, there will be at least two
additional installations for the 2009/10 season. These
installations are at Idalou Coop Gin in Idalou, TX and Central
Rolling Plains Coop in Roscoe, TX. We are excited about
continuing working with these gins as they are both existing
Steamroller I customers.
If you are an existing Steamroller customer
or just looking to improve the power and efficiency of moisture
restoration at your gin, the Steamroller II could benefit you.
We would love to take you to one of the existing Steamroller II
installations to visit with the guys who operate them daily. If
you'd just like to find out more information, give us a call and
we'd be glad to share. Thanks!
This page will be updated periodically
as we have our third season of working with Steamroller IIs in
the field.
