The Moisture Mirror II is currently
the most popular model of Mirror product because of its
functionality and value. The Mirror II is packed with
features, yet remains affordable for gins of any size. A
few of the most popular features are the Auto-Drying
Index, 14-Series remote capability, Auto-Heater Idle,
and Simple Shed Technology when connected to 14-Series
products.
Like the Mirror I, the Mirror II
automatically adjust heaters temperatures based on
incoming moisture, but it takes heater control to the
next level. The Auto-Drying Index allows the ginner to
set a target for the after-drying moisture (ginning
moisture) and the heater temperatures are adjusted to
maintain the target (picture on the left). Compared to
the Mirror I where the ginner manual adjusts the
Drying-Index, the Mirror II offers
fully
automatic heater temperature control. The Auto-Heater
Idle feature turns any connected heater to low-fire when
cotton flow stops. When cotton flow resumes, the heaters
return to the previous status of automatic control.
Simple Shed Technology is the newest feature added to
the Mirror II. Simple Shed uses the Ethernet
communication between the Mirror II and 14-Series
Heaters to turn heaters completely off (shed) when
incoming moisture falls below a user-definable moisture
percentage. Heaters light when incoming moistures rises
about the user-definable percentage within a few
seconds. Simple Shed Technology users have reported fuel
savings of 45%!
The 14-Series remote capability
(picture on right) further defines the Mirror product
line as the control center for all moisture variables in
the gin. While 14-Series products do not require the
Mirror II remote, having up to 4 Humidaire Units and 8
Heaters at your fingertips along with your other
moisture variables makes moisture control in a cotton
gin easier than ever.
