The Hot Box II has made belt conveyors the method
of choice for picking up cotton at the module feeder. You can watch
through the window as seed cotton collides with hot air creating a
point of drying and green boll/junk separation. The Hot Box II
provides a "bullet proof" front end for the gin. Regardless of what
surprises are hidden in the module, they cannot make it past the Hot
Box, unless easily conveyed by the air stream. Also, there are no
rotating parts, motors, or drives to maintain, so the Hot Box II is
basically maintenance-free!
As a bonus in the design, no pit is required at
the module feeder. Trash is thrown out by a trash gate that rides
close to the conveyor pulley. There are several ways to remove this
trash such as the additional conveyor belt used in the photo on the
left or air system used in the photo on the right. If the trash is large enough to
jam the trash gate, an electronic sensor reports the jam to the
operator. If a Samuel Jackson heater is being used, the heater
controls record the time and date of the jam for future reference.
Whether you are contemplating feeding a
separator/feed control or a pull-through drying system
directly, the Hot Box II is a fine choice. The Hot Box II is also
available with an integrated moisture sensor to allow burner
temperatures to be set automatically for the perfect drying
temperature as cotton conditions change! |
